My name is Brian Molepo i am Johannesburg based photographer, iv been travelling around South Africa trying to capture that perfect image that represents this great nation & its history. I first started making art in my teenage years while looking online for inspiration plus at that time i had a lot of creative friends around me but something about photography spoke to me & it’s way of story telling.
I live in a country where a lot can be said by just looking at our landscapes & dark history of separation that still lives in our architecture today. Going out into the world with a camera is a journey of self-discovery and pushing my limits. Photography is second nature to me I take my camera with me almost everywhere i go. When the shutter closes and clicks, I know I’ve captured something. I am interested in the feeling that a picture holds returning to a moment in life keeps me motivated to keep it alive. Its very important to document what’s around you & telling that story through the process of art making.
With photography i am able to view life In a different way & also understanding It’s complexity through this work i am trying to tell a story that still lives with us today with it’s architecture & landscapes the reality is that some people in this country still feel like they have no need to pay attention to it i feel its my job to show them the beauty and the contrast that sites between the lines of art & photography.
